1. The Ethics of WikiLeaks

I have to confess that I was not familiar with the Web site WikiLeaks until last April when it posted a video that purported to show U.S. forces killing Iraqi civilians. Then in July, the site released an Afghan War Diary that included nearly 77,000 documents related to the war in Afghanistan, many of which had been classified documents, and some of which allegedly reveal wrongdoings by the U.S. military in Afghanistan. Shortly thereafter, Bradley Manning, a 22-year-old U.S. Army intelligence analyst, was arrested for leaking the documents. It’s not clear at this point whether Manning was responsible for the leak or what charges the government might eventually bring against him.

Well, Terry, your piece was entertaining, informative, and with regard to your conclusion, right on the mark. As an acknowledged right wing neanderthal, I am in complete agreement. Perhaps by couching your argument in such a good read, more of our intellectual friends will understand the true immediate danger we all face, especially when considering the constant soft pedaling that terror still receives in so many quarters.

Best to Debra,

Greg

Thank you Terry for a most interesting and frightening analysis...I would have never thought of the ghouls and zombies of our imaginary classic tales coming to life (reality) in the form of ISIS, but they have indeed. Brilliantly said, and truly scary.

This piece and your spot-on comments about Trump make it doubly scary. Let's hope some sanity prevails and that we do not elect him into office. As to ISIS, who knows how to solve that one? What is this world coming to?
