THE CERULEAN ARK SERIES
Characters

Bradley Adamsson
The novel’s brilliant and introspective protagonist, Bradley is a high school valedictorian and math prodigy recently accepted to MIT. His life is overshadowed by Ollier disease, which has left him with a limp, and a recent, devastating diagnosis of liver cancer. Labeled a “freak” and a “crip” by his peers, he finds solace in academics and daydreams. His life transforms when he discovers an alien ship, which he names Athena. The ship not only heals his body but also bestows upon him extraordinary abilities, thrusting him into a global crisis that forces him to confront the moral complexities of absolute power.

Evaline Perez
Intelligent, beautiful, and popular, Evaline is an “A-lister” at South Pasadena High and initially Axel Taylor’s girlfriend. Beneath her confident exterior, she deals with the loss of both parents and a deep resentment for her manipulative stepmother, who has squandered her educational trust fund. Accepted to UCLA’s pre-med program, she is ambitious and compassionate. After being brought to the ship by Axel, her fascination with its technology and her growing respect for Bradley’s character lead her to abandon her old life and join him on an interstellar journey.

Axel Taylor
The quintessential surfer dude and school jock, Axel is handsome, macho, and moves through life with an easy confidence. An avid hunter, he discovers the alien artifact that leads to the ship but brings it to Bradley, acknowledging the geek’s superior intellect. Though initially terrified by the ship, his fear gives way to greed when he recognizes its immense potential for wealth. His impulsiveness and inability to keep a secret ultimately betray Bradley’s trust, setting off a global media frenzy and putting them both in grave danger.

Eliot Stankus
One of Bradley’s two best friends, Eliot is a charter member of the “Geek Squad”. Nicknamed “Stinky,” he is considered the funniest of the group, using humor as a defense mechanism against the social hierarchy of high school. His impulsiveness and carelessness have dire consequences when, on board the ship, he accidentally deactivates its invisibility cloak over China, triggering an international military incident for which Bradley takes the blame.

Kevin Truman
Bradley’s other close friend and Geek Squad member, Kevin is nicknamed “Moe” for his haircut. He is described as short, round, and “lovably pathetic,” often serving as the butt of Eliot’s jokes but remaining a loyal friend. Alongside Eliot, he is one of the few people Bradley trusts with the secret of the ship, only to be arrested as an accessory after the events in China become public.

John Adamsson
Bradley’s father is a respected astrophysicist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). A calm and optimistic man, he is thrust into the center of a global crisis when he is appointed to the task force investigating the mysterious event caused by his own son. Unaware of Bradley’s involvement, he is later arrested on suspicion of being a traitor, his loyalty questioned as he struggles with the impossible truth about his son and the ship.

General Stephanie Vaughan
A crisp and commanding three-star Air Force General, Vaughan is the leader of the Angeles Event Task Force. She is a pragmatic and authoritative figure who attempts to navigate the treacherous political waters surrounding the ship’s discovery. While she wants to secure the ship for the United States, she objects to the more extreme and duplicitous measures proposed by others, trying to find a peaceful resolution by appealing directly to Bradley.

Franko Pavlovich
A colonel in the Russian Air Force and a scientist assigned to their advanced missile program, Franko is dispatched to California to investigate the ship. He is a skeptical and professional operative who is repulsed by his brutish partner, the assassin Roma Nikitovich. His mission places him in direct opposition to American and Chinese agents as he tries to uncover the truth behind the extraordinary technology.

Berl Jeffers
A formidable multi-billionaire from the energy sector, Jeffers has a fervent, long-standing belief in UFOs. When the ship reveals itself, he sees it as the ultimate validation of his obsession. Using his immense wealth and media influence, he offers a multi-million-dollar reward for proof of the ship, manipulating Axel Taylor into a televised press conference that exposes Bradley to the world and turns the scientific discovery into a chaotic public spectacle.

Wen Kang
A disciplined and relentless agent from China’s Ministry of State Security, Wen Kang is sent to capture the ship or its pilot. He is a physically formidable operative who pursues Bradley through a chaotic mob with lethal intent. His presence in Pasadena, along with other foreign agents, highlights the global stakes of Bradley’s discovery, transforming the situation into a dangerous international espionage operation.
